Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
of this week are the Ember Days for the autumn
season. All three days are days of fast, for those who
are bound to the Church fast. In addition, Wednesday
and Saturday are days of partial abstinence (meat
only once), which binds all Catholics who are at least
7 years of age, Friday, as usual, is a day of total
abstinence.
